Why domain expiry matters
If a domain expires, the website and every email address on it stop working, and after a grace period the name can be bought by someone else. Expiry is one of the most avoidable causes of downtime.
Check the date, make sure auto-renew is on and the payment card is current, and consider registering for several years.
Where the data comes from
This tool uses RDAP, the public registration data protocol that replaced WHOIS. Personal contact details are normally hidden by registries, so we show only registration facts.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the expiry date missing?
Some registries do not publish it. Your registrar account always shows it.
What is a transfer lock?
A registrar setting that stops the domain being moved to another registrar without your approval.
Do you work with every domain ending?
Most endings publish RDAP data. A few country endings do not, and we say so when that happens.
Read-only: we request public pages the way a visitor would. Private and internal addresses are blocked, and nothing you enter is stored.
