SSL certificate checker

See when a certificate expires and whether it is installed correctly, before visitors get a browser warning.

Working on it. Most checks take 5 to 30 seconds, so please keep this page open.

Why certificate problems cost you visitors

An expired or misconfigured certificate shows visitors a full-page security warning, and most leave. Search engines and payment providers also expect working HTTPS.

Certificates expire at least yearly (free ones every 90 days), so the real risk is a renewal that quietly stops working.

What this checker looks at

It reads the certificate your server presents: who it was issued to and by, the dates, the full chain of authorities, and whether it covers the name you entered. It also tests which TLS versions are offered, whether plain HTTP redirects to HTTPS and whether HSTS is on.

Frequently asked questions

How long is an SSL certificate valid?

Public certificates are now valid for at most about 13 months, and many free certificates last 90 days and renew automatically.

Why does my certificate show as not trusted?

The usual causes are a self-signed certificate, an expired one, or a missing intermediate certificate. Install the full chain provided by your certificate authority.

Do you check the certificate on other ports?

This checker tests the standard HTTPS port, 443.

Read-only: we request public pages the way a visitor would. Private and internal addresses are blocked, and nothing you enter is stored.
