Why look at what a site is built with

Knowing the platform and tools behind a website helps you audit your own site, research a competitor, or plan a migration. It also shows what a visitor or attacker can learn about your setup without logging in.

What this checker reads

It loads the page the way a visitor would and looks at the response headers and the page source for the known signs of content management systems, website builders, frameworks, web servers, CDNs, analytics, chat and payment scripts. It also warns when a version number is public.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is technology detection?

It is a close guide, not proof. Detection reads public signs, so a site that hides them, or serves a cached copy through a CDN, may show fewer technologies than it really uses.

Why was nothing detected?

The site may be custom built, may remove its identifying tags, or may be behind a firewall that answers with a plain page. Try another page of the same site.

Is it a problem if my platform version is visible?

A public version helps automated scanners find sites running outdated software. Keep everything updated and hide version details where you can.

Read-only: we request public pages the way a visitor would. Private and internal addresses are blocked, and nothing you enter is stored.
